Brief Information

Born and raised in Fiji in the province of Tailevu and has 11 years of professional experience as a civil servant in the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts.  Officially joined SPC in May, following roles as a teacher teaching in rural and maritime zones before being called to take up the role of an education officer working on the development of curriculum and resources under the subjects of social sciences in the Curriculum Development Unit.  Taitusi was then tagged to the Department of Heritage and Arts taking up the role of Senior Policy Officer for the culture and heritage sector under the Ministry of Education.  Taitusi has worked on a range of areas, including: the development of Fiji’s National Cultural Policy; the implementation of the 2003 Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention; the development of the national intangible cultural heritage framework and represented Fiji at the international and regional levels. Taitusi holds a degree in Politics and International Relations from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.
