Brief Information

Kalpana has worked in the area of communications, information, advocacy and visibility for more than 10 years. Prior to joining HRSD, Kalpana was the Manager-Communications for the University of the South Pacific, with a specific focus on implementing the University’s Communications Strategy across its 12 member countries in the Pacific region. Kalpana also held the role of Senior Information Officer for the Fijian Government’s Department of Information. She initially began her career as the Community Media Officer for FemlinkPacific: Media Initiatives for Women. She has also worked as a news/current affairs journalist for a local online media organisation: FijiLive.com. Kalpana holds a Bachelor Arts Degree in Journalism and Tourism and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy from USP.
