HRSD aims to strengthen inclusive, transparent and responsive governance and institutions for human rights and social development.

Under Objective One, HRSD through its team of human rights practitioners and technical experts, provides support to ensure all SPC member country Government laws and institutions uphold the rights of all people through ensuring strengthened laws, policies and institutions, and building the capacity of civil society (including women and young people) so that they are in a position to influence policies and programmes, meaningfully participating in decision-making spaces. HRSD will also continuously support regional leadership to improve implementation of human rights and social development priorities at a national level through specific activities in each SPC member country and territory that it works with.
