Description
PWL at SPC is part of the broader Pacific Women Lead (PWL) portfolio funded by the Australian Government, which has women’s funds and other partners who also offer grants. These grants are through the broader PWL portfolio, and are separate to the PWL at SPC Grants.
Also under the PWL portfolio is the PWL Governance Board. The board has oversight of the entire PWL portfolio in early 2024 was reviewing 11 proposals to receive grants from the board’s Discretionary Funds of AUD5million.
Thematic Areas
PWL at SPC works broadly to advance three programmatic outcomes: Promote Women's Leadership; Realise Women's Rights; and Increase Regional Effectiveness.
In addition, specific projects and initiatives seek to address thematic areas such as:
- Women and Girls' Safety (Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, EVAWG)
- Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV)
- Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE)
- Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
- Adolescent Girls Inclusion (AGI)
- Climate Change
