Empowering local women in geospatial science
Despite leading climate change efforts, women in Pacific rural areas face barriers to accessing education, finance, digital tools, and technology.
These barriers hinder their participation in geospatial science, a field that is crucial for inclusive decision-making, economic growth and sustainable development for everyone.
The Pacific Geospatial Women Network (PGWN) addresses this gap through practical training, mentorship, and networking, equipping women with technical and leadership skills in geospatial science, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Earth Observation technologies.
