Bhakta Karki oversees knowledge and learning management portfolios, providing technical assistance for upscaling learning and achievements across the entire HRSD division/unit in the HRSD division.
Prior to joining SPC/HRSD, Bhakta gained extensive experience working with various organisations and funding agencies, holding similar roles. These include the European Union (Delegation of the European Union in Nepal), the World Bank's Dedicated Grant Mechanism for Indigenous People and Local Communities in Nepal, COSV (Italian organization in Lebanon), the South Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) and the Mekong Institute in Thailand, and The Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) in Nepal. Over the past few decades, Bhakta has accumulated expertise in managing and advising complex multidisciplinary projects and programmes in the fields of climate change, human rights, agriculture, and natural resource management. His experience spans regions such as South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
Bhakta holds a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, and a master's degree in Mountain Forestry from BOKU University, Vienna. Additionally, he has undertaken various training and research programmes covering Knowledge Management, Project Management, Fundraising, and Institutional Development.
