Joanne Lee Kunatuba is a Fiji Islander living in Suva, Fiji. She worked at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat as the Gender Issues Officer for six years before joining the Pacific Community as the Human Development Officer (Gender Equality) in August 2012 before taking on the role as the Secretariat’s gender mainstreaming advisor. Joanne has 15 years of experience in gender mainstreaming with strong emphasis in government and organisational policy review and development, gender assessments, gender stocktakes, and institutional strengthening. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts in Development Studies from the University of the South Pacific. Her thesis on the gendered impact of temporary labour migration with a special focus on the security sector in Fiji.
