Brief Information

Originally from Fiji, Margaret Fox has worked in the field of coastal fisheries management in Fiji for over a decade, helping local communities sustainably manage their fisheries resources. She has also undertaken collaborations with the Fijian government particularly with the Ministry of Fisheries to support and implement national policies to mitigate the over exploitation of two targeted fishery; sea cucumbers and groupers. Margaret has also worked extensively with women involved in Fiji’s coastal fisheries sector and advocating for their participation in important fisheries discussions. Prior to joining SPC, she was with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Fiji Program. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the South Pacific and a Master of Conservation Biology from Victoria University of Wellington.
