Sian has over 10 years’ experience working to advance gender equality in Fiji and the Pacific region. A passionate development-sector communications professional, parent, queer feminist and descendent of Girmitya, she has worked with civil society and governments in Pacific Island countries and territories - primarily from a communication for development perspective. Sian is driven to impart her skills and understanding to support initiatives and organisations that share the vision of an equal, just Pacific for all. A graduate of the University of the South Pacific, she holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Politics and Journalism and Post-Graduate Diploma in Development Studies. Sian is currently Communications Officer with Pacific region’s largest gender equality programme, Pacific Women Lead at the Pacific Community (PWL at SPC) housed by the Human Rights and Social Development Division of SPC.
