Contributing to regional and national priorities to elevate cultural, traditional knowledge and heritage in development.
This thematic area captures HRSD’s regional leadership of culture priorities. Under this area of work, HRSD promotes, integrates and celebrates positive expressions of Pacific culture as a foundational human right. Work includes integration of positive expressions of culture into regional and national policy, and education and implementation frameworks, and implementing culturally inclusive methodologies across development practises. This thematic area contributes to Objectives 1, 2 and 4 and is the basis of Objective 3.
HRSD's programmatic work under this theme includes:
- Implementation of the Pacific Regional Culture Strategy (PRCS) 2022 – 2032.
- Strengthening and delivery of the Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPAC).
- Regional and international engagement on the safeguarding of Indigenous/Traditional Knowledge.
- Strengthening Pacific Culture and Creative Industries.
- Supporting the delivery of the People Centred Approach (PCA) through Culture Inclusion.
